Gregory Dumitru, DDS
Dr. Dumitru established Virgin Valley Dental in 1999, which was originally in a smaller practice across town. Dr. Dumitru studied at Pacific Union College and then graduated in the Top 10 of his class from the Loma Linda University dental school in 1995. Some of the more advanced training that he has received includes treatment methods for progressive orthodontic systems. He has also studied with the prestigious Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Dumitru enjoys skiing and boating with his two daughters and is an avid supporter of different Virgin Valley High School athletic activities. Each year, he travels to Morocco with a dental missions team to provide essential oral health services to the at-risk residents.
Nathan Harris, DDS
Dr. Harris joined the Virgin Valley Dental team in 2008. Growing up, he enjoyed great experiences with his family dentist and orthodontist, which inspired him to pursue a career in dentistry. After receiving a degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah in 2003, he went on to attend The Ohio State College of Dentistry, graduating in 2007 in the Top 10 of his class. Dr. Harris is certified to provide oral sedation (sedation dentistry) here within our Mesquite dental office.
He and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors with their 4 children, coaching Little League Baseball of Virgin Valley and riding ATVs in the dunes.

Dr. Trevor Hess
Dr. Hess is from Idaho. He is our veteran in the office. He was in the Army. He also worked in Las Vegas for several years before coming to us here in Mesquite. He lives in the Logandale Nevada area. He is a relaxed perfectionist if that is possible. You will love seeing him here in the office. He loves to golf and talk basketball. He would be a great 6’4″ 3 point shooter to add to your city rec. or NBA D l league team. Negiotiate soon if you want him on your team. He is filling up his schedule with new patients here at our office.
Carol
A 20+ year employee at our office! Carol graduated as a dentist in the Philippines and moved to California. Carol is one that cares about everyone and knows how to do everything! She has gentle & quick hands. You are extremely lucky if Carol is involved in any aspect of your appointment. Carols husband Fred is an engineer at Primex here in Mesquite. They enjoy traveling and have visited many amazing places. They have children that are doctors, physical therapists and more all over the world. You will love Carol!
Jay
For nearly 20 years Jay has been working at our office! Yah baby! Jay actually worked with Dr Dumitru over 20 years ago when they were both still young bucks. Jay is experienced in all aspects of Dentistry. He grew up in California in the Newport/Huntington beach area and was always the popular guy, just like here at work. Jay is still a die hard Lakers fan despite the last several years of disappointment. He only cries on the inside when the lakers lose to the clippers. http://www.lakeshowlife.com He is still a legit O.C. guy. Do you need to know the latest style in hair or clothes? Check Jay out! He wears scrubs here at work, but outside of work he has the most style of all the employees. Sorry female employees:( Jay has 2 grown boys that are black belts just like him. He also has one beautiful daughter.
Dave
David Shirts is the Chief Operating Officer and Manager at Virgin Valley Dental in Mesquite, where he has been a dental hygienist for over 20 years. He holds certifications from the Academy of Laser Dentistry to operate CO2, Nd:YAG, and Diode lasers, and has traveled across the country training dental professionals on how to use these lasers to treat gum disease.
In addition to his clinical work, David has completed training as a dental laboratory technician. Earlier in his career, he co-owned a dental office in Arizona with Dr. Dumitru. This broad experience helps him manage the practice with a well-rounded perspective on patient care and dental operations.
Outside of work, David coaches a high school cross country team, embracing time spent running and enjoying the outdoors. He has completed many marathons including the Boston Marathon in 2025. He lives with his wife a physical therapist, and their four children—two boys and two girls.
David’s career reflects a commitment to advancing dental care through training and technology, while also staying grounded in community and family life.
Jamie
For 5+ years Jamie has been at our office. Do you want an appointment with the Doctor? You have to talk to Jamie! She runs both Doctors schedules. She can tell you: What is going to happen, What they said you need, How it is going to happen and translate that from Doctor words to real-world lingo our patients can understand! She is an amazing Dr. Coordinator! She completed dental assisting school and worked as an assistant here as well. She was born in California and grew up right here in Mesquite Nevada. Jamie is going to have a baby girl soon. Alex, Jamie’s other half will definitely have her groomed to be Dodgers fan from the start. Call and ask for Jamie and she will get you exactly what you need!
Jeannine
For 3 years Jeannine has been working here taking care of teeth. Jeannine is one amazing hygienist. You are extremely lucky if she cleans your teeth. She could work anywhere with her talents. She is an extra-vert with extreme attention to detail and organization. With this spirited combination, Jeannine might analyze six pockets around every tooth you have in the morning in the dental chair. Later in the evening, you could be enjoying an Eagles concert projected on her garage with 20 or more neighbors. (It has happened!) She loves to travel and has lived in the Midwest, Hawaii, and now the desert of Mesquite.
Pepper
For 5 years Pepper has been Spicing us up here working every day at our office. Pepper is one of our great Dental Assistants. You know exactly what you are getting with Pepper. She is confident, direct and gets the job done. She is also alot of fun. You can hear her upbeat music pumping from her car when she drives by. She adds fun to the day when things are going well and figures out how to make it fun when things are not. You will ask for her again if you have the chance to be seen by Pepper!
Nichole
Nichole was recruited to our office from Dr. Hess and Pepper and is a wonderful addition to our office. Nichole moved to Mesquite seven years ago, she is originally from California where she grew up and was raised. She graduated from Dental assisting school in 2009. She is married to the love of her life, Francisco. Together they have one son Christian and one daughter Jaiden and one dog Zeus.
